The story of the Wideopen and North Gosforth Community Association is a story of people coming together. Daverson Hall is part of that story: a place for local life, learning and celebration.

The Association’s 2022 trustees’ report identifies Daverson Hall on Elmwood Avenue as its home and records charity number 229587.
Its stated purpose is to maintain a venue for social, cultural and educational activities, with an inclusive welcome across the community. The report also describes the Association as non-political and non-sectarian.

A Jubilee mention in Parliament
On 26 May 2022, Mary Glindon MP spoke in the House of Commons about her plans to join the Association at Daverson Hall for its weekend-long Platinum Jubilee event.
A hall for many interests
The Association’s annual report records a mix of fitness, flower arranging, dog training and social activities. It gives a snapshot of the different ways people were using the hall that year.

Our recovered website advertised a Coronation Community Day for 7 May and a BBQ & Band Night for 5 August 2023. The saved pages and posters preserve a little of the hall’s social calendar.
